An Easter Message from the Rector

Dear Friends,

As I write this, we are in our third week of our Lenten study, “Mission Possible”.

After four and one-half years with you as your pastor and rector, I am encouraged by the changes I see taking place at St. Thomas the Apostle. For one thing, our “stewardship story” has improved significantly. Our financial reality continues to be encouraging and there continues to be a concerted effort to reach out to others and to form partnerships within the community.

Incumbent's Report to Vestry for the Year 2009

"Living God's Word in the World God Loves ", our vision statement, represents both the challenges and the opportunities facing a Christian community in our time. It means making God's Word real in our lives and through our lives making God's Word real for others as well. Christian authenticity in individuals and in communities continues to be a powerful force which attracts others to Christ and to His Church. The arena in which we function as disciples and apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ is the World God Loves. It begins within our walls and extends out from the doorstep of the Church into a rapidly changing community with emerging needs.

Next Messy Church - August 28

Come to our next Messy Church on Saturday, August 28, 2010, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. with dinner provided. Our theme will be Noah's Ark. It might get wet, so come prepared! Please let us know if you're coming, and how many, so that we can be sure to have enough food and craft material on hand! To RSVP, you can call the church office at 613-733-0336 and leave a message.

Messy Church is a hands on family Bible adventure. Parents and children spend time together actively exploring one Bible story. It's called messy because messes just might happen when doing anything with the very young, but that's okay. It's called church because it is gathering together to hear a Bible story, to experience the story through art, music, storytelling, prayer, and a meal, and to be a community. It's a once-a-month time of creativity, worship and eating together.
